Christopher Derrick, A.L.A., RA-Principal and founder of Derrick Architecture, oversees all design projects from the initial schematic design through the completed construction documents. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago, he began his career with a wide variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and vacation home design. Over a decade later, he began Derrick Architecture to express his passion for traditional and classical architecture.
Christopher believes that design should be guided by ongoing client interaction as well as the timeless tenets of classical architectural design. Christopher also has an exceptional eye for detail and the functionality of each space.
Christopher has served as vice president of Community First, an organization encouraging compatible redevelopment of established communities. He is the current and founding president of the Chicago-Midwest chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture. He also sits on the Zoning Board for the city of Wheaton, Illinois.
Christopher has participated in juries at the University of Notre Dame and Judson College. His work has been published in Naperville Magazine, Decatur Magazine, and LUXE Magazine. He has also been interviewed for articles published in Professional Remodeler Magazine. Multiple projects by Derrick Architecture will also be featured in the upcoming book, Meeting with the Traditionalists.
